Practical info to help you prepare

Apart from off-site parties and screenings at the Filmhouse, all events take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC), which can be found at:

The Exchange,
150 Morrison St,
Edinburgh EH3 8EE.

Located in the Atrium in the entrance to the EICC , the registration desks open an hour before the first session each day. We are likely to be very busy on the Wednesday morning, so please be patient as we hand out delegate passes and festival bags!

We will also open the desk on Tuesday afternoon, if you happen to be in Edinburgh early and want to beat the queue.

Tuesday 20 August 15:00 – 18.00
Wednesday 21 August 09:00 – 18:00
Thursday 22 August 09:00 – 18:00
Friday 23 August 09:00 – 14:30

Your delegate pass gives you access to all Festival sessions, parties and receptions – you do not need to purchase any further passes or individual tickets, though admission to all sessions is on a first come, first served basis on presentation of a valid delegate badge. Please keep your pass safe- there is a replacement fee of £25 for lost badges.

It may also be necessary to pre-register for certain screenings and networking events – information regarding this will be publicised and circulated to delegates in August.

How to get to the EICC

Edinburgh has excellent links to the rest of the UK including direct trains from major UK cities including Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Newcastle with over 25 daily departures from London. Direct trains from London Kings Cross to Haymarket Station takes roughly 4.5 hours, with costs varying on the time travelling.

Edinburgh Airport operates domestic, European and transcontinental flights including budget airlines. The airport is served by Edinburgh Trams, which runs every 7 minutes from the terminal to Edinburgh city centre and takes 30 minutes. Additionally, Stagecoach operates the newly formed JET express bus service. Taxi ranks are signposted in the airport.

The EICC is just a few minutes walk from Waverley train station. A taxi rank is located outside the EICC and Uber also operates in Edinburgh.

Affordable options for everyone

The TV Festival (21-23 August) takes place in in the capital’s busiest month with hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city. It’s a fantastic time to visit Edinburgh, but it also means that there is a huge demand for accommodation.

To book your accommodation, see below for the best rates available.

You will receive a printed Festival programme and the delegate list in your goodie bag, which you can pick up from registration desks.

We would also encourage you to download the Festival app before you arrive on site, as it includes a digital copy of the programme.

Information Desk

Wednesday 21 August 10:30 – 18:00 Thursday 22 August 09:00 – 18:00 Friday 23 August 09:00 – 14:30

The Festival Information Desk is next to the registration desk in the Strathblane Hall, and will be open throughout the Festival. The EICC front desk can also provide more specific information about Edinburgh and the other Festivals taking place in August.
